Rose Manteghian

Welcome...

Rose Manteghian is an American artist. She began drawing at the age of two, and is multi-talented in the art field. She is a 1983 graduate of Methacton High School in Pennsylvania. She also majored in Commercial/Fine Arts at Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, PA, studied Studio Art at Villanova University, and has a Paralegal Degree from the American Center for Technical Arts & Sciences d.b.a. Main Line Paralegal Institute in Wayne, PA. While in college, Rose was also a private art tutor, teaching drawing to an eight year old child.

Her artistic talent is a gift she was born with. Knowing she had this talent, Rose started making greeting cards, painting designs on jackets, then designing and wearing her own line of costume jewelry. Family and friends took notice of how creative she was.

In 1991, while working full-time, Rose decided to follow her dreams of becoming an accomplished artist. For most of the 1990's, she sold her artwork at many craft shows, art exhibitions, local stores, plus did commission art. All of Rose's artwork is handmade, one-of-a-kind and very detail oriented.

One of her first major projects was an album cover she designed in 1995, for a local Philadelphia area rock group, "Slacker". In 2002, she made sculptures for the multi-platinum, Grammy Award winning rock group, "System of A Down". She also made paintings and jacket designs, which were featured on System of A Down’s official website.

Since then, Rose has made sculptures for other celebrities including Micky Dolenz, Bobby Brooks Wilson, Chubby Checker, Bill Haley & The Comets, Charlie Gracie, Ozzy & Kelly Osbourne, Cher & the Foo Fighters. In 2010-2011, her sculptures of Jimi Hendrix, Joey Ramone, Freddie Mercury & David Bowie, were featured at the WMGK Classic Rock Art Show in Philadelphia. From 2015 through 2018, Rose was voted one of the top finalists for Best Artist in Montgomery County Pennsylvania, by The Montco Happening List. From 2019 through 2021, then again in 2023 and 2024, she became the Winner in the Best Artist category for The Montco Happening List.

Rose continues to create her own unique works of art. In 2008, she created her first children's coloring book, titled "Armenian Heritage Coloring Book". In 2014, she created another coloring book, titled "Decades of Fashion & Style Coloring Book". She has also donated many pieces of her artwork to various fundraising events.

In 2019, Rose was one of the selected artists chosen to create one of the drawings for a coloring book, titled “I’d Rather Be...”. The coloring book was for the Gifts of Art Program for Michigan Medicine, which is part of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. The book was distributed to thousands of patients & guests of Michigan Medicine.

Rose was on the cover of the January 2023 issue of Lower Providence Living Magazine, which featured a full article about her journey as an Artist. She was also an official judge for the Community Club of Collegeville’s Annual GFWC (Greater Federation of Women’s Clubs) Festival of the Arts Contest for K-12 students in 2023 and 2024.

Artistic talent also runs in Rose's family. Her mother, who was always into fashion, taught her how to draw & sew. Also, her mother's cousin, Ray Aghayan, was a very well known Hollywood costume designer, who designed costumes for many various stars.

Most important of all, as a devout Christian, Rose thanks The Lord each day for the wonderful artistic talent He gave her.
